LET'S START - |
How is Microfiber Better Than Traditional Materials? |
- Highly efficient: Microfiber's thousands of cleaning surfaces remove 4x more dirt and bacteria than conventional cotton products
- Cotton blended or other synthetic yarns have basically one cleaning surface per fiber and tend to move dirt around instead of lifting it from the surface
- Super absorbent: Microfibers can absorb 7x their weight in water
- At the same time, they don't drip, eliminating the need to constantly rinse and wring, as with a conventional mop or cloth
- Effective cleaning: Removes over 99% of all bacteria with only tap water compared to 30% with conventional wet mops
- Positive charge helps hold dust so it does not get redistributed back into the air
- Versatile: Effective wet or dry, on porous or non-porous surfaces
- Highly launderable: Withstands numerous launderings, and can always be clean and ready to go (do NOT use fabric softener on microfiber materials)
- Lint-free
- No shredding/fraying resulting in performance losses as cotton or other fibers do
- Lighweight and ergonomic: Compact, easily stored, easy to use, reduces heavy lifting and awkward positioning
- Non-abrasive: Gentle on surfaces
- Efficient, Durable & Cost Effective: Microfiber mops last 3x longer than conventional blended mops
TAKE THE NEXT STEP -
Implement a Microfiber Color Coding System:
Further reduce cross contamination by introducing a color coding system to your facility or home! Microfibers do not come in a variety of colors just to look pretty. These color options can be a great a tool to differentiate cleaning tasks.
- Easy way to prevent cross contamination
- Example: Specifying that red microfibers are to be used only in restrooms means you should never see them being used elsewhere
- Variety of tools all with the the color coding system in mind
- Simplify employee training
- Simple wall charts can be a helpful reminder of which color belongs where
CUSTOMIZABLE -
Commonly Used Color Coding System:
- RED: High-Risk Bacteria Surfaces such as restroom cleaning & floors, toilets, urinals or bathroom partitions
- BLUE: General, Low-Risk Bacteria Areas such as floors, walls, mirrors/glass or computer screens/electronics
- YELLOW: Specialty Project Cleaning or Fixtures/Touch Surfaces such as sinks, faucets, hand dryers or towel/soap dispensers
- GREEN: Food Service Areas such as dining tables/chairs, food prep areas, dish washing or food vending areas
CLEANING TIP -
Extending the Use of a Microfiber Cloth:
Using the whole microfiber cloth all at once or wadding it together is an inefficient way to clean and often results in cross contamination.
Instead, fold the microfiber cloth in half and then half again to create 4 sections on each side. Clean using one section at a time. When a section becomes soiled, change to the next section.
